Mobile Deposit is an innovative check deposit service that eliminates the need to visit a branch to deposit your checks!

What is Mobile Deposit?

Mobile Deposit allows you to make a check deposit via Rio Bank App, by photographing the front and back of the item with your iPhone, iPad or Android device and submitting that image for deposit to your account.

Helpful Tips

  • Sign/Endorse the back of your check, and label it “For Deposit Only.”
  • Place the check on a solid dark background before taking the photo.
  • Position the camera above the check so there is no angle.
  • Make sure the check is visible, contains all four corners, is well lit and in focus.
  • Ensure there are no shadows across the check.

Extra Information

  • There is no fee
  • You may deposit up to $25,000 a day using Mobile Deposit.
  • Deposits made before 4:30pm (Central Time) will be processed on the current business day. Deposits made after 4:30 pm will be processed on the following business day. See Terms and Conditions for Additional information.
  • We recommend writing on the front of the check on the memo line, "Mobile Deposit on DATE", keeping the paper check for 15 business days after the funds are posted to your account, and then securely destroying the check after 15 business days.

It's easy to get started:

  1. Log into your Rio Bank Mobile app
  2. Endorse the back of the check as “For deposit only" and your signature
  3. Select Deposit from the Menu
  4. Select New Deposit
  5. Select the account to receive the deposit & Enter the amount of the check
  6. Take a photo of the front and back of the check
  7. Once image is sent, you will be prompted to confirm deposit amount.
  8. Click on Deposit History to view status and check image up to 45 days
  9. Write on the front of the check “Mobile Deposit on DATE” (where date is the full date you deposited the check by Mobile Deposit)
  10. Securely store your check for 15 days after deposit, and destroy after 15 days

Advances in technology are always impressive, but it’s important to keep sensitive banking information secure when it’s on your phone. Here are a few tips:
Store your phone in a secure location.

  • Lock and password-protect your device so that nobody else can use it or view your information.
  • Delete your browser history regularly.
  • Frequently delete text messages containing your account information (including your account balances).
  • Before you sell, dispose of or lend someone your device, ensure that your personal account information has been deleted.
  • Never disclose via text message any personal information (account numbers, passwords, or any combination of sensitive information like your social security number or birth date that could be used in ID theft).
